The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by our client on the recruitment of their next Automotive Service Manager. This role is a key leadership position responsible for managing the daily functions of the service department. The Service Manager ensures that the team provides outstanding customer care while achieving or surpassing operational and financial objectives.
Serving as the connection point between customers, service advisors, and dealership leadership, this position is integral to delivering a smooth service experience that strengthens customer relationships. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, adapts to changes in the automotive industry, and ensures compliance with both dealership and manufacturer expectations. This role requires a balance of technical expertise and business insight, along with the ability to inspire a team and create a productive, supportive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an excellent service experience by responding promptly to customer concerns, implementing improvements based on feedback, and building lasting trust.
- Direct the day-to-day activities of the service department, including scheduling, workflow, and resource management, to ensure efficient, high-quality results.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate service staff while fostering collaboration, engagement, and accountability.
- Develop and monitor the department budget, track performance indicators, and improve profitability through effective cost control and revenue generation.
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer requirements, warranty processes, and dealership policies, while upholding safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and organized workplace in line with industry regulations and health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in automotive technology or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in automotive service management and/or operations.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leader with a history of building and motivating teams.
