Senior Feed Safety Specialist
Summit Search Group is proud to partner with a top employer in western Canada’s agriculture industry who is seeking a Senior Feed Safety Specialist to support and facilitate livestock feed safety and regulatory compliance across manufacturing and warehousing facilities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with operational team members and support the development of the FeedAssure® program while fostering a strong feed safety culture.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with feed safety regulations and accreditation standards
- Support internal and external audits and CFIA facility inspections
- Support Managers with communication to regulatory agencies and third-party auditing bodies
- Conduct internal FeedAssure® audits and support corrective actions
- Partner with Managers to develop and maintain employee training
- Facilitate Feed Safety Team meetings
- Maintain and continuously improve feed safety and quality programs by effectively working with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure timely completion of feed safety-related documentation
- Build a strong safety culture through the motivation and recognition of team members
- Ensure open communication and transfer of knowledge across cross-functional teams
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in livestock feed manufacturing and feed/food safety
- Post-secondary education in agriculture, livestock production, or food/feed safety
- Knowledge of HACCP/FeedAssure®, CFIA, and related regulatory requirements considered an asset
- Working knowledge of quality systems and process improvement
- Ability to adapt in an evolving environment while managing priorities and initiatives
- Honest, ethical, self-starter who works well independently
- Collaborative team player able to build strong relationships with all levels of internal team members and external partners
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and resourceful problem-solver
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Must have valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to facilities 30-40% of the time
- Physically able to lift up to 25 kg
