This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader in steam system solutions, known for its strong reputation, collaborative culture, and commitment to sustainability. As the Sales Engineer, you’ll be in a field-based, consultative B2B sales role, where success comes from understanding customer challenges, identifying opportunities, and delivering tailored technical solutions that improve operational performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Account Management
- Prospect, develop, and manage customer relationships across the Prairies region
- Balance new business development with account growth
- Build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders within client organizations
- Identify customer needs and uncover opportunities through a consultative sales approach
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute territory, account, and call plans aligned with business objectives
- Manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline, including forecasting and opportunity tracking
- Achieve or exceed sales targets through disciplined sales process management
- Prepare and present ROI-driven proposals demonstrating measurable customer value
Consultative Selling & Solution Development
- Diagnose customer challenges (“pain points”) and quantify value-based solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, service, and project teams
- Promote solutions that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support sustainability goals
- Negotiate pricing and terms to successfully close business opportunities
Customer Engagement
- Conduct regular on-site visits and face-to-face meetings
- Deliver technical presentations and support solution implementation
- Maintain accurate records and activity tracking within CRM systems
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a technical, consultative B2B sales environment
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage a sales pipeline and meet performance targets
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and highly organized
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory
Preferred:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Experience in industrial sectors such as OEM, manufacturing, healthcare, or energy
- Exposure to steam systems, heat transfer, or process equipment (an asset)
- Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and sales analytics
