The Position:
Summit Search Group is seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join our client’s team in Beausejour, Manitoba. A construction project coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects. They work closely with the project manager and other members of the project team to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The specific duties and responsibilities of a construction project coordinator may vary depending on the size and complexity of the project.

Based in Beausejour, Manitoba they have over 15 years of experience in the industry. Key Responsibilities: The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the Bison Modular Home projects and will work under the guidance and direction of the Project Managers.
- Planning and scheduling: The project coordinator assists in developing project plans and schedules, tracking progress against those plans, and making adjustments as needed to ensure that project milestones are met.
- Budgeting and cost control: The project coordinator helps to prepare project budgets, monitors expenses, and identifies potential cost overruns. They also work with the project team to identify cost-saving measures.
- Procurement and logistics: The project coordinator assists in the procurement of materials and equipment and coordinates the logistics of delivery to the construction site.
- Communication and documentation: The project coordinator maintains project records and documentation, prepares reports, and communicates project status and updates to the project team, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Safety and quality control: The project coordinator helps to ensure that safety regulations and quality control standards are met on the construction site.
- Team coordination: The project coordinator works closely with other members of the project team, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure that everyone is working towards the same project goals.
- Problem-solving: The project coordinator identifies and resolves issues that arise during the construction process and helps to develop solutions to ensure that the project stays on track.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering CET or related field, and 2- 3 years’ experience as a Project Coordinator or similar position (Project Analyst, Project Administrator) or other qualifying related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Or experienced red seal tradesperson with business and computer knowledge.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or, at a minimum, Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)
- General knowledge of Project Management principles and methodology, especially those considered best practices under the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- Experience with document management solutions like MS SharePoint
- Post-undergraduate diplomas or certificates in Project Management are an asset.
- Ability to: gather, analyze, and organize data, define problems and requirements, and recommend solutions
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Dynamics and similar project management tools, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with solution development and delivery lifecycle
- Strong problem solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation
- Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
Work conditions:
May include travel, ability to lift 50+ lbs, required safety equipment, hazards associated with the trade, work both indoors and outdoors, construction sites, noise, irregular hours.
