Location: Remote in Northern Manitoba (21 on, 7 off)
The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by Cobra Enterprises on the recruitment of their next Plumbing Foreman. Cobra Enterprises, established in 2009, is a leading construction company headquartered in Beausejour, Manitoba. The company offers comprehensive building solutions across various sectors, specializing in remote projects throughout northern Canada as well as large-scale urban commercial developments
With a team of over 175 employees, Cobra Enterprises operates through three specialized divisions: Cobra Modular, providing modular construction services; Cobra Mechanical, delivering mechanical and electrical solutions; and Cobra Structures, focusing on pre-engineered building solutions and general contracting services.
The Plumbing Foreman is responsible for overseeing and executing plumbing installations across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable plumbing codes, specifications, and safety standards. The Foreman leads a team of plumbers and apprentices, manages subcontractors, coordinates with general contractors and project managers, and ensures proper material management, scheduling, and site documentation. This position requires strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, effective leadership, and a proactive approach to problem-solving on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and perform plumbing installations according to blueprints, specifications, and all applicable codes.
- Plan and execute the layout and rough-in of piping, fixtures, drainage, and water systems.
- Order and track plumbing materials and equipment, manage deliveries, and oversee packing slip documentation.
- Lead, train, and mentor plumbers and apprentices, ensuring safe work practices and technical proficiency.
- Support skill development and foster a collaborative, productive work environment.
- Coordinate plumbing tasks with general contractor schedules and submit weekly look-ahead plans.
- Identify installation issues or discrepancies, submit RFIs, and implement approved changes and PCNs.
- Ensure team compliance with all plumbing safety standards and Cobra Mechanical policies.
- Work with safety personnel to develop and maintain site-specific safe work procedures.
- Accurately record time, materials, and progress through ADP and Site Docs.
- Submit daily reports, timesheets, and ensure proper use of cost codes.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years in plumbing installation and construction, including crew leadership experience.
- Red Seal Journeyman Plumbing Certification.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Site Docs, ADP, and mobile project tools
