The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by Rainbow Resource Centre on the recruitment of their newest Learning and Growth Coordinator. Rainbow Resource Centre is a leading organization dedicated to supporting Manitoba’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities, offering essential resources, programs, and services. The Centre provides a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all ages, promoting well-being and personal development. Their services include counselling, youth programs, workshops, and social groups. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, Rainbow Resource Centre plays a crucial role in fostering connection, education, and empowerment for the 2SLGBTQ+ community across the region.
The Learning and Growth Coordinator is responsible for the development, facilitation, and evaluation of educational programming that advances equity, inclusion, and awareness for 2SLGBTQ+ communities. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, Learning and Growth, this role delivers workshops, consultations, and training to workplaces, schools, and community organizations, ensuring meaningful engagement and impactful learning experiences.
This position plays a critical role in expanding the Centre’s reach by developing educational resources, fostering partnerships, and providing guidance on best practices in inclusive education. The Learning and Growth Coordinator contributes to the Centre’s broader mission of fostering understanding and systemic change through education.
Responsibilities:
Education and Training Delivery:
- Create and facilitate engaging and accessible training programs on 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion, diversity, and equity for schools, businesses, healthcare providers, and other professional organizations.
- Customize training sessions based on audience needs, ensuring content is relevant and actionable.
- Provide policy and procedural consultation to organizations seeking to enhance their inclusivity efforts.
- Research, develop, and distribute educational resources to support training initiatives.
- Deliver engaging and accessible workshops in Rainbow’s programs
- Assist in training and onboarding new facilitators, volunteers, and community educators.
- Track and report on workshop participation, outcomes, and impact.
- Work collaboratively with the Program Manager, to align education efforts with strategic goals.
- Plan a biennial student conference
- Assist in the development and implementation of program evaluation tools to measure effectiveness and inform future initiatives.
- Other related duties as assigned by, and negotiated with management
Community Engagement:
- Collaborate with community partners to identify educational needs and co-create relevant learning opportunities.
- Support the planning and execution of educational events, including conferences, panels, and outreach initiatives.
- Participate in awareness campaigns and public engagement efforts to strengthen visibility and impact.
- Gather feedback from training participants and stakeholders to continuously refine and improve programming.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in education, training, instructional design, or a related field.
- Proven ability to develop and facilitate engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
- Strong knowledge of equity, diversity, and inclusion principles, particularly in relation to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.
- Excellent facilitation and public speaking skills with the ability to engage diverse participants.
Working Conditions:
Working hours are generally Monday – Friday from 9:30am – 5:00pm. Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate evening, weekend, and on-call hours required for programming. This is a unionized position (CUPE 2348). Rainbow Resource Centre offers health, dental, and employee assistance plan benefits.
Salary: $23.146 – $26.066/hr ($45,000 – $51,000 annually)
