Summit Search Group has proudly partnered with Johnston Group on the search for their next Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP). Johnston Group provides employee benefit solutions to companies from one employee to 10,000 or more.
The HRBP plays a crucial role in providing strategic HR guidance to business leaders and employees. This position is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business objectives that will drive employee engagement, culture, and performance.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will be responsible for a variety of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, HR policy compliance, and leading projects that amplify HR’s strategic impact.
What you’ll bring:
- A passion for recruitment and talent acquisition, with a focus on identifying and attracting top talent, along with a strong interest in developing innovative sourcing strategies to build candidate pipelines.
- Experience with HR analytics, metrics and reporting, using trends to support data-driven decisions.
- A high level of curiosity and strong business acumen, enabling proactive connections and well-informed decision-making grounded in sound judgment.
- An innovative mindset, with the ability to handle multiple priorities accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- A helpful approach and aptitude to flex various skill sets, including the ability to think creatively, execute tasks and collaborate across teams.
- Proven success leveraging technology to streamline processes and improve outcomes.
*Hybrid working model based out of our Winnipeg, MB office only with three days or more in-office per week.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or Generalist role
- Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources Certificate (CPHR preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with full-cycle recruitment, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviews, offer negotiations, and onboarding logistics
- Strong foundation in HR best practices and scope of accountabilities associated within the HR function
- Experience administering disability management programs
- Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into HR initiatives
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to effortlessly prioritize work based on business demands and requirements with the ability to work independently
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to work in an extremely fast-paced environment in a high-growth business
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Self-starter who is flexible and able to take initiative
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
