The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by a National Organization on the recruitment of their next Director, Human Resources. With a commitment to excellence our client is dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees. Reporting to the Vice President, The Director, Human Resources will maintain the highest levels of integrity, trust, and confidentiality, as you are charged with the protection of sensitive information, and act with appropriate independence to ensure fairness and objectivity for all employees.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional who will provide guidance, advice, while looking on a wide range of areas including recruitment and selection, compensation, benefit administration, performance management, employee coaching/development, employee labour relations, and employee engagement and culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the company’s objectives and promote a positive work environment.
- Lead the recruitment and selection process, including workforce planning, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop and implement talent management initiatives, including performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
- Lead employee and labour relations, including the collective bargaining process.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
- Oversee the compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, incentive plans, and employee benefits.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives to support organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Internal Services Team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management. CPHR is considered an asset.
- 5+ years experience in a Human Resources Related role with responsibilities at a Generalist or Business Partner level.
- Experience professing payroll and administering benefits and pension.
- Strong knowledge of HR Best Practices, employment laws and regulations.
