Counter Sales Representative – Entry Level
Our client, a leading distributor of plumbing, HVAC, waterworks, and industrial products, is looking for a Counter Sales Representative to provide sales support to customers, as well as the inside and outside sales teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist customers who purchase material in store
- Research product for customers and provide recommendations on our assortment of product
- Drive sales growth through ownership of counter merchandising and product promotion
- Maintain product knowledge on all product offerings
- Enter, pick, and pack sales orders
- Maintain and clean the counter area including any merchandising displays
- Inform the procurement team when inventory levels are low
- Follow-up on back orders with vendors and provide customers with accurate delivery dates
- Process returns to customers both on account and cash sales including paperwork in compliance with all procedures
- Provide a professional atmosphere for walk-in customers
- Uphold the organization’s core values and ethics with every interaction
- Be an effective teammate in the Profit Centre
- Be courteous, friendly and build relationships with customers and vendors
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience with customer service, retail and/or food industry experience
- Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and operate software systems used to process orders
- Intermediate math skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to learn how to operate material handling equipment
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
- Ability to work well independently and in a team setting
Remuneration:
Remuneration for this role consists of a base salary of 42-45K plus bonus, RSP matching, a great benefit program and huge growth opportunity with an industry leader!
