On behalf of our client, Summit Search Group is proud to partner with a well-established organization within the industrial distribution sector in their search for a Branch Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hands-on leader to take ownership of a growing branch operation and drive sales, performance, and customer relationships in the Manitoba market.
The ideal candidate will bring both business acumen and operational know-how—someone equally comfortable leading a small team, engaging customers, and rolling up their sleeves to get the job done.
The Role
The Branch Manager will be responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and growth of the branch. This includes direct accountability for sales and revenue generation, customer service excellence, and staff leadership.
This individual will collaborate closely with inside and outside sales teams, other branch locations, and senior leadership to ensure operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and motivate branch staff to achieve collective goals in sales, service, and operational excellence.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Partner with senior leadership to align branch objectives with overall company strategy.

Drive sales growth through proactive business development and customer engagement.

Oversee branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

Support and guide inside and outside sales staff, assisting with key accounts and project opportunities.

Ensure efficient branch operations, including order processing, reporting, and inventory management.

Participate in management meetings and provide regular performance updates and analytics.

Handle escalated customer service issues and ensure timely resolutions.

Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

Be willing to engage in all areas of branch operations—office, warehouse, and field—as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Proven experience in managing a branch or distribution business (preferably within water, wastewater, or groundwater-related industries).

4+ years of experience in pumps, valves, or related industrial equipment preferred.

Strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to inspire and engage a small, dynamic team.

Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems; advanced skills in Excel and MS Office Suite.

Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Demonstrated accountability, initiative, and adaptability.
