The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by our local client on the recruitment of their next Body Shop Manager in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. As the leader of the shop, you will play a critical role in driving success by ensuring efficient workflow, delivering top-tier customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity. In this position, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our body shop, including supervising a team of skilled technicians and support staff, building strong relationships with customers and insurance partners, and achieving financial performance goals.
You will leverage your technical expertise, leadership skills, and problem-solving abilities to streamline operations, optimize repair processes, and exceed customer expectations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a deep understanding of automotive repair and bodywork, and is passionate about leading a team to consistently deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the body shop, including scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation.
- Monitor shop performance to meet or exceed productivity, quality, and profitability goals.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Hire, train, and supervise technicians, estimators, and other shop personnel.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and support to staff.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, insurance companies, and vendors.
- Resolve customer concerns and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Oversee the repair process to ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Stay updated on the latest repair techniques, tools, and technologies.
- Ensure accurate estimates and approvals are in place for all jobs.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in automotive technology or a related field.
- Proven experience in body shop or collision centre.
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
