Summit Search Group has been retained by a Winnipeg-based manufacturing organization to recruit a Sales Representative. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, relationship-focused sales professional to manage existing accounts while expanding the customer base within a technical and production-focused environment.
The Opportunity
Reporting to senior operations leadership, the Sales Representative will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing customer accounts while driving profitable growth through new business development. This role blends account management, technical sales, and project coordination, working closely with internal engineering, planning, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, understands technical products, and thrives in a results-driven manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive profitable sales growth within existing customer accounts through upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
- Proactively identify and secure new customers through cold calling, networking, and relationship development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing product and service information.
- Prepare and respond to customer requests for quotation (RFQs) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, planning, and production teams to support project execution and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and execute account strategies aligned with customer needs and business objectives.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market trends, competitors, and customer requirements.
- Manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively to meet sales targets.
- Act as a solutions-oriented partner when addressing customer challenges or issues.
- Maintain accurate records, forecasts, and sales activity using internal systems and tools.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in business, engineering, or a related field required.
- 3–5 years of direct sales and account management experience, preferably in manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environments.
- Proven experience with customer acquisition, account growth, and revenue generation.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical products and solutions.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High level of self-motivation with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications; experience with ERP systems is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Valid passport and ability to travel within Canada and the United States, if required.
