Position Scope:
With a commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction, the Vice President of Finance (VP) is responsible for overseeing all financial strategy and operations across the organization.
This executive role involves strategic financial planning, risk management, budgeting, and optimizing financial performance to support the company’s long-term growth. The VP will work closely with senior leadership to drive financial efficiency, ensure compliance, and provide data-driven insights to improve operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial strategies to support business expansion and operational efficiency.
- Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the President & CEO based on financial analysis and projections.
- Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS/GAAP standards.
- Ensure adherence to regulations, tax laws, and international trade compliance standards.
- Manage relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Supervise external and internal audits, ensuring transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow to ensure financial stability and liquidity.
- Implement cost control measures to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
- Assess financial risks related to currency exchange, international trade, and economic fluctuations.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures by conducting financial due diligence.
- Identify and secure funding opportunities to support business expansion.
- Optimize capital structure and working capital management
- Oversee the implementation of financial systems and digital transformation initiatives.
- Utilize data analytics to drive financial insights and operational decision-making.
- Automate financial reporting and compliance processes for improved efficiency.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling to support decision-making and business expansion.
- Provide financial insights and reports to the executive team, advisory board members, investors, and external partners.
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Skills and Knowledge:

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field and CPA.
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, preferably within the logistics, supply chain, or transportation sectors.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, strategic planning, and risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and budget management.
- Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, international trade finance, and freight cost structures.
- Proven experience in financial risk management, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Experience in M&A is an asset.
