The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by White Spruce on the Lake on the recruitment of their newest Head of Operations – Campground. White Spruce on the Lake is an exclusive seasonal trailer resort located in the peaceful RM of Lac du Bonnet, just an hour’s drive from Winnipeg. Set among stunning natural beauty, the resort features 272 spacious and private sites ideal for travel trailers and fifth-wheel campers. Each site is surrounded by trees, offering a perfect blend of seclusion and community. White Spruce fosters a serene, nature-focused lifestyle, with a strong emphasis on family-friendly activities.
As the Head of Operations will be the primary point of contact for all guest and member relations ensuring a positive experience for everyone. This includes overseeing membership management, effectively communicating with members to address inquiries and concerns, and handling complaints or requests with professionalism and efficiency.
Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of business activities that ensure the smooth functioning of member services, events, and on-site logistics. The Head of Operations will also manage essential services, handle operational tasks, take on financial duties, and oversee rental site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee member services, including water delivery, septic tank maintenance, and wood orders through Shopify.
- Manage startup and shutdown operations, such as office and store openings, calls, and maintenance scheduling.
- Ensure timely completion of leases in the fall, with a focus on managing the lease payments due by April 1.
- Coordinate RM of Lac Du Bonnet Garbage tags, passes, boat launch passes, golf cart registrations, and other logistical tasks to maintain seamless operations.
- Plan, organize, and oversee five major annual events, including the July Golf Cart Parade, August Horseshoe Tournament, Halloween in Summer, live band performances, and other community activities.
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets and QuickBooks to manage basic accounting, financial tracking, and budgeting.
- Maintain communication with members, wildlife authorities, and the RM of Lac du Bonnet.
- Oversee consignment sales, interviewing potential buyers and ensuring compliance with site improvement regulations.
- Supervise two rental sites for guests of members, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining member responsibility for their guests.
- Serve as the primary liaison for members and guests, fostering positive relationships and ensuring satisfaction.
- Manage member communications, addressing inquiries, concerns, and updates in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in a management role at a hotel, fishing lodge, or large campground considered a strong asset.
- Proficiency utilizing Excel and QuickBooks for accounting related tasks.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
