Position Overview:
The HR Business Partner plays a crucial role in providing strategic HR guidance to business leaders and employees. This position is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with business objectives that will drive employee engagement, culture, and performance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will be responsible for various HR activities, such as Recruitment, DEI initiatives and projects, HR policy compliance, and leading projects to enhance the overall effectiveness of HR focus areas.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Guidance: Work closely with business leaders to understand their goals and provide HR solutions that align with business objectives. Act as a trusted advisor to ensure HR strategies are integrated with business needs.
- Talent Acquisition & Recruitment: Oversee and support recruitment efforts to attract top talent, manage the end-to-end recruitment process, and collaborate with hiring managers to ensure staffing needs are met efficiently. Lead bilingual recruitment efforts.
- Employee Engagement & Culture Development: Design and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and promote a positive workplace culture. Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Lead DEI initiatives and projects, promoting an inclusive workplace and ensuring DEI principles are embedded in company culture and HR practices.
- HR Policy Compliance: Ensure HR policies are up-to-date, compliant with relevant laws, and consistently applied across the organization. Provide guidance to managers and employees on policy-related issues.
- Performance Management: Support and facilitate performance management processes, including setting objectives, conducting reviews, and addressing performance issues. Coach managers on providing constructive feedback and development opportunities.
- Employee Relations: Manage employee relations matters, such as conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and investigations. Provide advice to both managers and employees to ensure fair treatment and adherence to company policies.
- HR Projects & Initiatives: Lead or participate in HR projects focused on improving HR processes, systems, and practices. This could involve optimizing HR systems, enhancing onboarding processes, or improving employee retention.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs within the organization and work with Learning and Development teams to deliver programs that build employee skills and capabilities.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Use HR metrics and data to measure effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations for HR improvements. Provide regular reports to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.
Qualifications And Experience:
- 3+ years’ experience in an HR Business Partner or Generalist role
- Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources Certificate (CPHR preferred)
- 3+ years’ recruitment experience with demonstrated ability. You will manage the entire recruitment process, including job posting; offer recommendation and creation; intake; closing; onboarding; and final stages.
- Fluently bilingual in French and English
- Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws and regulations
- Proven ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into HR initiatives
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to effortlessly prioritize work based on business demands and requirements with the ability to work independently
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to work in an extremely fast-paced environment in a high-growth business
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, ability to effectively convey information and build relationships with fluency in English and French
- Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Self-starter who is flexible and able to take initiative
- Able to maintain confidentiality at all times
