Summit Search Group, a leading national recruitment agency, has partnered with McFadden Benefits in Winnipeg, MB on this exciting opportunity, seeking a highly knowledgeable Group Retirement Advisor. The Group Retirement Advisor will be responsible for managing and advising on group retirement plans.
Job Summary
The Group Retirement Advisor is a seasoned financial professional responsible for managing and advising on group retirement plans, such as pensions and savings programs, for corporate clients. They work closely with HR departments and company leadership to design, implement, and manage retirement programs that align with organizational goals and meet employee needs. This role involves conducting regular plan reviews, providing financial education, and offering guidance to clients on regulatory compliance, investment options, and plan optimization. An Advisor fosters long-term client relationships, delivering personalized solutions and expert advice to support employee retirement goals and enhance overall client satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Generate new business opportunities by actively prospecting and promoting McFadden’s group retirement advisory services
- Maintain a sales pipeline, prospect marketing strategy, and create plan for outreach to new prospective clients using Salesforce CRM
- Lead the creation of marketing content and Group Retirement Services (GRS) new business development in DC, DB OCIO, DPSP/RRSP
- Contribute to a positive sales culture that is open to collaboration through the growth of creativity and innovation
- Attend industry events, representing and promoting the company’s brand within the community
- Ensure existing Group Retirement clients are adhering to the Capital Accumulation Plan guidelines (CAP) and meeting current legislative and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate and facilitate pension committee meetings with our DC/RRSP/DPSP clients
- Work with Insurance Carriers to ensure plans are properly priced and Investment Fund offerings are in-line with marketplace
- Preparation and presentation of RFP’s
- Respond to general and technical questions regarding plan operation and legislation from plan sponsors / administrators pertaining to all types of group savings and retirement products
- Prepare and conduct employee education sessions for new and current employees regarding their GRS programs
- Coordinate sessions in conjunction with the Insurance Carriers advisor team, educating plan members on a series of topics such as Retirement plans, Retirement Planning, Investing, Government Benefits, Employee Education, and Risk Tolerance
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Group Retirement sales experience or High Net Worth Individual Investment advisory experience
- Strong sales and interpersonal skills as well as motivation to achieve business objectives
- Competitiveness and passion for sales with persistence and determination
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written with an enthusiasm for doing presentations
- Deliver results and exceed expectations while working collaboratively with others
- Have strong relationship building skills with external customers while presenting ideas/concepts creatively and succinctly
- Ability to creatively put forward innovative solutions
- Adaptable to growth and change in a fast-evolving environment
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle, given the travel needs
- Designation of RPA (Retirement Plans Associate), or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) is a benefit
- Understanding of capital accumulation and defined benefit plans is preferred
