About Our Client:
Our client is a well-known entity within the consumer goods sector.
Position Scope:
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for critical functions such as budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis. Under the direction of the VP of Finance, the Director, of Financial Reporting and Analysis is a key business partner who will provide regular presentations of results to senior management alongside meaningful analysis and insights to develop and support strategic financial plans.
Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting in cooperation with various stakeholders.
- Provide meaningful and well-supported analysis for senior management to support and influence business decisions.
- Provide key strategic insights on financial results and trends relative to in-year plans and beyond.
- Lead and oversee regular monthly and quarterly reporting, continually enhancing standards.
- Consolidate reporting across multiple sites, understanding and summarizing results, and anticipating questions for presentation.
- Identify business risks and opportunities through financial modelling and variance analysis.
- Miscellaneous special project work and analysis as required.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to ask questions and provide insights to various stakeholders.
- Agile and adaptable in managing and responding to competing priorities.
- Demonstrated strong change management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to consolidate data and make presentations and recommendations to senior management.
- Experience identifying opportunities for improvement and gaining buy-in from senior management.
- Strong collaboration skills to develop and foster relationships across all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, CA or CMA) preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting, finance and FP&A experience, with 5+ years of relevant FP&A experience preparing budgets, forecasts, analyzing and reporting on business performance.
- Related industry experience in CPG and/or manufacturing, with a strong understanding of inventory costing and measuring production performance.
