Vice President of Operations
Our client, a leading provider of environmental and construction management services, is looking for a Vice President of Operations to join their growing organization in Calgary.
In this role you will work hand in hand with the ownership team to assist in the strategic and continuous growth of the company and its objectives while providing leadership and operational oversight among each division of the organization.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Development
- Provide strategic leadership in resource management, project delivery, safety, and employee/vendor performance.
- Build and manage teams by addressing challenges and risks specific to the environmental services sector.
- Ensure a succession plan is in place for key roles and address skill gaps to meet future workforce needs.
Business Optimization
- Drive financial, commercial, and operational performance of existing business units.
- Develop and implement plans to enhance margins, workforce utilization, and client satisfaction.
- Oversee quarterly operational planning to achieve financial, quality, safety, and cultural goals.
Client and Vendor Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with major clients, staying attuned to evolving needs, industry trends, and project opportunities.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities to maximize growth potential.
- Oversee proposals, contracts, and vendor agreements to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with internal service groups (IT, Accounting, Safety, Technical QA/QC) to enhance processes and practices.
- Provide training and support to employees and vendors to ensure successful implementation of standards.
- Lead safety and quality programs, addressing findings from audits and driving continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- VP, Director, GM level experience within the environmental, energy, construction, or engineering services sector is an asset.
- Bachelor of Science is preferred; MBA is an asset.
