In this role you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment and performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in a safe and accurate manner in accordance with Sonography Canada standards and practice and in adherence with their Code of Ethics, and with CAR (Canadian Association of Radiologists) standards. You will provide exemplary customer service in the care of the patient including:
- Working in cooperation with reception, radiologists and clinic supervisors as part of a team whose primary focus is to provide exemplary customer service to the patient.
- Assisting patients to facilitate transport and positions and ensuring accuracy of consultation request is verified in all cases without error, and with no errors in patient identification.
- Explaining procedures to the patient, providing high quality patient care and assisting patients with their physical and emotional needs, when necessary while maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIA, HIPA, and all privacy policies.
Candidates must possess active credentials and membership in good standing with Sonography Canada, as well as:
- Demonstrated superior technological skills with proof of competency in abdominal, obstetric, pelvic, small parts, superficial structures, and general vascular ultrasound procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and delight in talking with people and taking care of them; making the patient experience as effortless as possible and a natural ability to express yourself in a clear, concise, and empathetic manner.
- A team player who can work independently with a positive attitude and proactive team and service-oriented mentality with superior time management and multitasking skills and the ability to keep up with a busy workload.
Compensation includes a competitive wage scale between $45.55 – $54.85/hour with annual benchmarking, overtime eligibility, and annual compensation reviews with regular wage increases. Plus, a comprehensive benefits package, including Health and Personal Spending account, generous Vacation and Paid sick time, and RRSP matching program. Plus, reimbursement for professional licensing with Sonography Canada and any other required bodies (ex. SAMRT) and annual Education Allowance for courses, conferences, and certifications.
