Our client is a well‑established organization operating within the medical and healthcare products sector, supporting a broad network of retail partners and healthcare professionals across Ontario. They are seeking a Territory Manager to join their Sales team on a 20‑month contract, covering the North Greater Toronto Area and Northern Ontario territory.
This role is a field‑based sales position focused on maintaining and growing existing accounts while actively developing new business opportunities within the territory. The Territory Manager will build strong, sustainable relationships with retail partners and medical professionals, acting as a trusted consultant and brand representative. Success in this role requires a highly organized, relationship‑driven sales professional who thrives on autonomy, values customer engagement, and is motivated by achieving and exceeding sales targets while delivering exceptional service.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
Territory Sales & Account Management
- Managing and growing sales within a defined geographic territory across North GTA and Northern Ontario.
• Maintaining and expanding existing customer relationships while actively prospecting for new business opportunities.
• Achieving and exceeding annual sales goals while maintaining expected performance standards.
• Strategically planning territory coverage to maximize productivity and customer engagement.
• Connecting medical prescriptions with appropriate dealer partners as a key driver of success.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Building strong relationships with retail outlets including pharmacies, DME stores, and related sales environments.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and category‑related issues.
• Providing superior sales consulting and customer service to enhance customer business outcomes.
• Maintaining a professional image while representing the organization’s values and brand standards.
Medical Professional Education & Training
- Educating, detailing, and training a broad range of medical professionals including surgeons, dermatologists, phlebologists, residents, nurses, and other key influencers.
• Providing clear advice on product usage and category best practices to support patient and business outcomes.
• Collaborating with colleagues and regional leadership to support conferences, educational seminars, and training initiatives.
Retail Support & In‑Market Activities
- Managing and supporting events, including product measuring and fitting (requires bending and crouching).
• Ensuring product merchandising standards are met in retail environments, including wall displays and signage.
• Supporting in‑store activities such as display resets, signage installation, and product movement as required.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Utilizing electronic sales reporting systems to document activity, track performance, and follow call guidelines.
• Managing sales expenses responsibly and submitting reports accurately and on time.
• Collecting and reporting market and competitive intelligence on a regular basis.
• Maintaining accurate records of sales calls, in‑service visits, and territory activity.
Travel & Territory Coverage
- Managing frequent travel throughout the territory, including trips exceeding two hours.
• Scheduling appointments efficiently to maximize time between customer visits.
• Participating in sales meetings, medical events, and other business activities as required, including occasional overnight travel.
Qualifications
- University or College degree.
• 2–5 years of experience as a sales professional or account manager with a proven track record of success.
• Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed defined sales targets and performance metrics.
• Strong relationship‑building, communication, and consultative selling skills.
• Strategic sales mindset with the ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, listening, and closing skills.
• Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Valid G driver’s licence required and must have a vehicle.
Physical & Travel Requirements
- 30–40% travel required across the assigned territory.
• Ability to drive long distances and manage overnight travel as needed.
• Ability to lift, load, and unload materials, including show booth equipment.
• Ability to demonstrate proper application of products in retail and educational settings.
