Technical Training Specialist
Location: Port Coquitlam, BC | Travel: ~25%
Our client, a global leader in daylighting and roof window solutions, is seeking a Technical Training Specialist to join their Canadian team. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically skilled professional with a passion for training others and driving adoption of innovative building products.
The Opportunity
As a Technical Training Specialist, you will deliver engaging, hands-on training programs that empower contractors, dealers, and trade professionals. You’ll play a critical role in showcasing best practices for product installation, educating on sales techniques, and building stronger partnerships across the industry. With both mobile training events and sessions at a dedicated training facility, this role blends technical expertise with the ability to inspire and coach others.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead interactive, hands-on training sessions focused on product installation and profitable sales techniques.
- Deliver mobile training across Ontario and support programs at the Academy facility in Oakville.
- Build strong relationships with installers, roofers, dealers, and trade schools by promoting the value of technical training and ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate with the sales team to plan, schedule, and manage training activities across your territory.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of training content, tools, and resources.
- Capture trainee feedback and maintain training records using CRM tools.
- Represent the brand with professionalism, enthusiasm, and technical expertise at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Background in roofing, building, or construction.
- Experience delivering technical or installation training in the building products industry (or related sector).
- Highly personable.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, able to create energy and engagement in training sessions.
- Familiarity with tools and techniques used in skylight or roofing product installation.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and comfort with Microsoft Office tools.
- Ability to travel overnight (~25% of the year) and manage a mix of office, showroom, and field work.
- Physically able to lift/carry loads over 60 lbs and work in hands-on training environments.
Nice to Have:
- Fluency in a second language.
- Degree or trade school diploma in a related field.
- Experience organizing and executing mobile or remote training programs.
- Confident, customer-oriented approach with a collaborative mindset.
