Matrix seeks to quickly secure 3-4 highly experienced, full time Recruitment Managers with deep networks across the heavy industrial sectors this may include industrial construction, mineral exploration, junior and senior mining, mining camp services, heavy equipment mechanical trades, with some possible overlap in workforce skills from oil and gas, forestry and aviation/ logistics.
The selected individuals will bring proven success in full-cycle recruitment for complex, remote, and project-based workforce environments, with particular strength in Western Canada and the High Arctic. The immediate objective is to mobilize an effective recruitment effort for the upcoming Winter Ice Road season and to build a scalable foundation for a high-performing recruitment division.
Role Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, each of the Recruitment Managers will play a critical role in scaling Matrix’s workforce to support expanding contracts within the minerals sector. This includes recruitment across a wide range of positions such as:
• Winter Ice Road operators and labour
• Mining camp operations staff (catering, housekeeping, maintenance, management)
• Exploration field labour (e.g., core cutters)
• Heavy equipment operators and Class 1 drivers
• Heavy-duty mechanics (surface and underground)
• Warehouse, logistics, and asset management personnel
The Recruitment Manager will develop and execute sourcing strategies, build candidate pipelines, and ensure recruitment processes are aligned with Matrix’s operational goals and company values.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead high-volume recruitment campaigns for seasonal and project-based roles, beginning with ~200 hires for the Winter Ice Road program.
• Source and attract candidates through multiple channels, leveraging existing industry networks and innovative outreach strategies.
• Build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
• Apply data-driven methods to optimize recruitment efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support continuous improvement of recruitment processes, templates, and tools for long-term scalability.
• Promote the Matrix employer brand and uphold the company’s people-first, safety-driven culture.
Candidate Profile
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
• Proven ability to recruit within fly-in/fly-out or remote workforce environments.
• Deep understanding of northern and remote logistics and the challenges of seasonal labour recruitment.
• Strong networks across heavy industrial, mining, and exploration sectors in Western and Northern Canada.
• Demonstrated success in sourcing and hiring trades, camp operations, and mechanical personnel.
• Proven ability to recruit from First Nations and Inuit communities and work respectfully with Indigenous partners.
• A practical, entrepreneurial mindset and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced, growing organization.
• Minimum five years of progressive recruitment experience; prior management experience is an asset.
Compensation & Location
• Start Date: ASAP – URGENT
• Competitive Salary commensurate with experience.

o On-site work is required during onboarding (mid-November to mid-December).
o Hybrid arrangements may be considered during the transition period after onboarding is complete.
