Our client is a construction company specializing in municipal, commercial, agricultural and residential construction. They are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join their team based in Ayton, Ontario.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Overseeing and leading a team of employees.
- Collaborating closely with the Assistant Project Manager.
- Travelling to various job sites across Southwestern Ontario as required.
- Utilizing software tools such as Excel, Bluebeam, SiteDocs, and Smartsheet.
- Performing tasks including print reading, estimating, construction layout, quantity takeoff, scheduling, planning and approvals, costing and labor management.
- Coordinating with subtrades, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors and delegating responsibilities effectively.
- Collaborating with engineers, architects, and other workers on projects to ensure alignment and successful project completion.
- Ensuring compliance with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements.
- Preparing budget and cost estimates, along with construction schedules.
- Monitoring project progress and handling any delays, emergencies, or problems that arise.
- Communicating the client’s goals and project requirements clearly to subcontractors and employees.
- Contributing to the company’s growth.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
- A degree or diploma in Construction Engineering Technology Management or Construction Management is preferred.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Excel, Bluebeam, SiteDocs, and Smartsheet is an asset.
- Strong skills in: print reading, estimating, construction layout, quantity takeoff, scheduling, organizational skills, planning and approvals, costing and labor management.
- Experience successfully managing multiple projects, working on long-term project development up to the point of project closeout.
- Experience coordinating with subtrades, suppliers, consultants, and inspectors.
- Ability to work in various environments including job sites, office, and on the road.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle unexpected issues and challenges.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
