The Position:
Summit Search Group has been engaged by a leading North American baking company, specializing in frozen baked good on the recruitment of their next Production Supervisor. Known for their innovative portfolio, the company offers products such as breads, buns, cookies, donuts, muffins, and pastries. With several Bakeries across North America, our client prioritizes innovation, anticipates consumer trends, and consistently exceeds expectations. The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations in a unionized manufacturing setting, ensuring production stays on schedule, within budget, and meets food safety and quality standards. This role enforces health, safety, and environmental protocols while serving as a key communication bridge between workers and management to achieve organizational objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular meetings with employees to offer constructive feedback, recognize achievements, and establish clear performance expectations aligned with organizational objectives. Foster a culture of accountability and growth through ongoing coaching and support.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to plan and oversee weekly production activities. Ensure optimal staffing levels by assisting with employee scheduling to meet production demands while minimizing labor inefficiencies.
- Track and analyze labor and material usage to identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Maintain strict adherence to QA, GMP, and food safety standards, while preparing and delivering detailed daily performance reports.
- Lead initiatives aimed at reducing waste, minimizing downtime, and improving overall productivity. Champion continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for innovation and guiding teams through the implementation process.
- Actively participate in safety committees, sustainability improvement teams, and energy reduction projects. Contribute to research and development (R&D) initiatives, including testing and refining formulas to support product innovation and improvement.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience supervising unionized workers.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities and mechanical aptitude.
