The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by Rainbow Resource Centre on the recruitment of their newest Manager, Stewardship and Philanthropy. Rainbow Resource Centre is a leading organization dedicated to supporting Manitoba’s 2SLGBTQ+ communities, offering essential resources, programs, and services. The Centre provides a safe and inclusive space for individuals of all ages, promoting well-being and personal development. Their services include counselling, youth programs, workshops, and social groups. As an advocate for diversity and inclusion, Rainbow Resource Centre plays a crucial role in fostering connection, education, and empowerment for the 2SLGBTQ+ community across the region.
The Manager, Stewardship and Philanthropy leads efforts to secure and grow the Centre’s resources by fostering meaningful relationships with donors, corporate partners, and funders. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring sustainable funding to expand the Centre’s work, deepen its impact, and advance inclusion and equity for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.
This position oversees donor relations, corporate sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, and grant initiatives while working closely with internal teams and external partners to cultivate long-term financial support. The Manager provides strategic leadership to enhance philanthropic efforts and build a strong network of supporters committed to the Centre’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Fundraising & Donor Relations:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that includes major gifts, planned giving, corporate partnerships, and annual giving campaigns.
- Lead stewardship initiatives to engage and retain donors through impactful recognition programs, personalized communication, and relationship-building efforts.
- Oversee donor database management, ensuring accurate tracking, reporting, and segmentation to optimize fundraising effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Director, Collaboration and Systems Change to align fundraising goals with advocacy, education, and communication strategies.
- Develop and execute fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives to increase community engagement and financial support.
Corporate Sponsorships & Grant Management:
- Identify and cultivate corporate sponsorship opportunities, ensuring mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the Centre’s mission.
- Develop compelling sponsorship packages and oversee fulfillment of sponsor benefits.
- Research and apply for grant funding, managing proposal writing, application submissions, and reporting to funders.
- Maintain strong relationships with funding agencies, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and successful execution of funded programs.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and support a team responsible for donor relations, community engagement, and fundraising events.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for direct reports, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of staff in alignment with organizational policies.
- Work cross-functionally with communications, program management, and advocacy teams to ensure fundraising messaging and impact storytelling align with the Centre’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in fundraising, donor stewardship, philanthropy, or a related field.
- Proven ability to develop and execute donor-centered fundraising strategies.
- Strong relationship-building skills with experience engaging diverse donors, corporate sponsors, and community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of best practices in donor stewardship, grant writing, and event-based fundraising.
- Experience managing a fundraising team and working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
- Experience with fundraising CRM systems, donor tracking, and financial reporting.
