Human Resources Generalist
Our client is an iconic Canadian company with over 100 years of helping companies grow and succeed in Canada, they provide national dedicated fleet solutions, general freight services, managed transportation, fulfillment & distribution, and home delivery. With a national network of terminals, cross-docks, and distribution centers, they are one of Canada’s largest and most trusted supply chain service providers.
This position serves as the first point of contact for on-boarding/off-boarding, supporting and resolving employee relations issues, implementing HR programs, policies and procedures, training & development and providing monthly/quarterly support for HR reporting and metrics.
Responsibilities:
- Coach and advise Managers on complex and diverse employee and labor relations issues, including compiling and preparing evidence to support appropriate recommendations.
- Provide overall employee relations support to all staff inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
- Build effective relationships with internal clients to understand their business goals to proactively identify and implement solutions in line with their strategy.
- Facilitate Human Resources training programs including Progressive Discipline, Coaching for Performance, Supervisory Leadership, etc.
- Responsible for all onboarding and orientation of new employees.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s Degree/Certificate in Human Resources, Industrial Relation or a related discipline
- CHRP (Certified Human Resources Profession) designation
- Ability to work with senior leadership to implement effective change management processes
- Comprehensive knowledge of Canada Labor Code (CLC), Human Rights, Accommodation, etc.
