Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba (AITC-M)
Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba (AITC-M) is a well-established non-profit organization dedicated to helping students and educators understand the importance of agriculture and food systems. Through engaging programs, resources, and partnerships, AITC-M connects classrooms to the real-world impact of agriculture across the province.
We are seeking a dynamic and purpose-driven Executive Director to lead the organization forward.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the President of the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and performance of AITC-M. This role requires a balance of vision and execution, ensuring the organization continues to grow its reach, strengthen partnerships, and deliver meaningful programming aligned with its mission.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Strategy & Board Relations
- Provide leadership in executing AITC-M’s strategic plan, working closely with the Board to support governance, set direction, and ensure clear, consistent communication on organizational performance.
Financial Sustainability & Administration
- Oversee the financial health of the organization, including budgeting, reporting, and audit processes, while leading fundraising efforts and developing diverse, sustainable revenue streams.
Public Relations & Partnerships
- Act as the primary ambassador for AITC-M, building strong relationships with government, industry, educators, and national partners.
- Strengthen the organization’s profile and ensure its impact is well communicated.
Operations & Team Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations and support a high-performing team.
- Ensure programs are delivered effectively, resources are aligned to priorities, and the organization operates efficiently.
Programs & Educational Impact
- Guide the development and delivery of innovative, curriculum-aligned programs and resources.
- Ensure AITC-M continues to evolve its offerings to meet the needs of Manitoba educators and students.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a collaborative and hands-on leader who brings both strategic perspective and operational strength.
You understand how to lead within a non-profit environment and are comfortable working with a Board while managing relationships across multiple stakeholder groups.
You bring:
- Proven leadership experience within a non-profit organization
- Strong fundraising and partnership development experience
- A connection to agriculture, education, or both
- The ability to represent an organization with credibility and passion
- A practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach with a focus on impact
