Canad Inns is Manitoba’s premier hospitality provider; operating hotels, restaurants, banquet facilities, and entertainment venues in Winnipeg, Brandon, Portage la Prairie, and Grand Forks under a well-established “Made in Manitoba” brand. The company prides itself on delivering exceptional service and maintaining a hands-on, collaborative culture.
We are seeking a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead and strengthen their brand. This is a hands-on role, requiring both strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. The successful candidate will work closely with the operations team, business leaders, and external partners to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that drive business growth.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strategic mindset who thrives in a hands-on environment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential for working with internal teams and external partners. The successful candidate will be adaptable, analytical, and passionate about growing a well established local brand while driving meaningful business results.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and implement strategic marketing and communications plans to support business objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day marketing operations, including campaigns (digital, print, social media) and material distribution.
• Manage relationships with external partners (e.g., agencies, media outlets) and facilitate outsourced marketing activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Marketing Coordinator.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align marketing efforts with business goals.
• Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI.
• Manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
• Handle hands-on tasks as needed, such as updating calendars, scheduling ads, or preparing press releases.
Qualifications and Experience
• Relevant education or work experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing (Google Ads, SEO, SEM) and traditional media.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor a small team.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
• Experience managing relationships with third-party agencies and vendors.
