Director of Business Development – North America
📍 Remote | Based in Canada or the U.S.
We’re partnering with a scaling industrial technology company that is redefining operational efficiency and sustainability across the mining and metals sector. Backed by more than $125M in funding this organization is entering a new phase of growth—and we’re looking for a Director of Business Development – North America to lead commercial expansion across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
The Opportunity
In this senior role, you’ll report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and take ownership of strategic customer relationships across North America. You’ll lead market penetration efforts, manage key accounts, and oversee a small commercial team responsible for driving growth in a complex B2B environment.
\This is an ideal role for a sales leader with experience navigating enterprise-level sales in mining or heavy industry—someone who thrives on building long-term value through strategic client partnerships and technical collaboration.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and execution of regional account strategy
- Drive sales growth across North America through strategic key accounts
- Manage a small commercial team and coach them toward performance excellence
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers at enterprise clients
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align sales, marketing, and technical support teams
- Guide technical discovery and solution delivery alongside internal product experts
- Track and report on key sales metrics, pipeline activity, and market feedback
- Contribute to overall corporate objectives and business planning
What You Bring
- 8–10+ years of B2B sales or business development experience (mining, industrial tech, or energy preferred)
- Proven success managing strategic accounts and closing large, complex deals
- Strong grasp of sales strategy, forecasting, and performance management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field; MBA is an asset
- Spanish language skills are a bonus, but not required
- Ability to travel across North America as needed
