About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and growth-oriented organization within the building products distribution industry. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Controller to join their senior leadership team. This position offers broad exposure across finance, operations, and strategic planning within a multi-branch environment and is ideal for a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial setting.
Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for the overall management of the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, strong internal controls, and timely financial information to support business decisions. Working closely with senior leadership and branch operations teams, the successful candidate will oversee full-cycle accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, process improvement initiatives, and audit coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end processes, bank reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, and operational results
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities
- Support strategic planning and provide financial insight to senior leadership
- Coordinate external audits and maintain strong internal controls and reporting practices
- Work collaboratively with multiple branch operations to support business performance
- Identify and implement process improvements, efficiencies, and financial best practices
- Support banking relationships, reporting requirements, and compliance initiatives
Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership exposure
- Experience within distribution, industrial, manufacturing, or related operational environments preferred
- Experience working within organizations in the approximate range of $50M–$200M in annual revenue
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance
- Strong Excel and ERP systems experience

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation for this position will consist of a base salary in the range of $130,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience, in addition, a bonus program, LTIP and comprehensive benefits package.
