Branch Manager
Location: Richmond, BC
Reports to: VP Sales & Regional Manager
Our client, a privately held Canadian distributor with a proud history of growth and service, is looking for a Branch Manager to lead their Richmond location. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the last national, privately owned companies in the industry, known for its entrepreneurial culture, customer-first service, and people-focused values.
Over the last five years, our client has grown from $78M to $230M in sales, competing with large multinationals by being nimble, responsive, and deeply customer-oriented. Employees here are given autonomy and the ability to treat the business as their own. The result is a culture where people stay for decades, and where customers consistently return because of the unparalleled level of service.
The Role
As Branch Manager, you will:
- Lead day-to-day branch operations to ensure efficiency, professionalism, and profitability.
- Manage and coach a team of seasoned sales representatives and newer team members, tailoring your leadership style to support both independence and growth.
- Oversee and support sales activities, from setting targets to mentoring on customer relationships and market development.
- Balance operational oversight with motivational leadership, ensuring warehouse, inventory, and customer service run smoothly.
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute branch budgets, strategic sales plans, and market growth initiatives.
- Act as a culture-carrier, motivating the team with positivity and adaptability, even when challenges arise.
- Provide regular updates on market conditions, competitive insights, and sales performance to senior management.
- Champion corporate strategies, trade shows, and promotional programs that strengthen customer relationships.
What Success Looks Like
- An adaptable “chameleon” leader who can flex their style across a team of both seasoned and developing salespeople.
- A motivator who brings positivity, energy, and problem-solving skills to a dynamic but rewarding environment.
- Someone who balances operational discipline with sales coaching and change management.
- A leader who keeps the team aligned on the shared goal of branch success and customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in electrical distribution or direct wire and cable is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and mentor diverse sales teams.
- Proven success in balancing operational oversight with market development and customer engagement.
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset.
