The Position:
Summit Search Group has been retained by a McFadden Benefits, specializing in employee benefits, retirement, and wellness strategies. The firm is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Benefits Advisor to join their dynamic team. This position offers a unique opportunity to for someone looking to deepen their expertise, gain exposure to client advisory work, and grow into a more senior advisory role.
As a Benefits Advisor, you will work closely with Senior Advisors and Leaders to deliver exceptional client service and support the strategy, implementation, and management of group benefits programs. You’ll be exposed to a wide range of clients and benefit plan structures, with opportunities to build your knowledge and advance your career in benefits consulting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison for client accounts, offering comprehensive support from implementation to ongoing assistance
- Foster and strengthen client relationships, enhancing product/service adoption rates and overall client experience
- Coordinate plan implementations, provider changes, and onboarding for new clients
- Own the preparation and execution of client deliverables, including renewals, marketing reports, plan design modeling, and benchmarking analysis
- Conduct quarterly and annual account reviews to effectively manage account lifecycles
- Communicate with insurers and vendors to resolve claims issues, clarify plan details, and rectify member experience outcomes
- Respond to day-to-day client inquiries related to eligibility, billing, claims, and plan coverage
- Support new business sales opportunities in conjunction with the McFadden Team
- Uphold and promote the organization’s brand identity in the marketplace
- Raise awareness of new products and services among client accounts
- Maintain and update client files, policy documents, and plan summaries
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes in the group benefits space (e.g.,CRA rules, ESA, provincial/federal health policy)
Qualifications:
- 1–3+ years of experience in group benefits, carrier customer service, insurance brokerage, third-party administration, or human resources with a benefits focus
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, Insurance, or related field an asset
- Life and Accident & Sickness (A&S) license LLQP in your province (or willing to obtain within 60–90 days of hire)
- Strong working knowledge of group benefits products (extended health, dental, life, disability, EAP, virtual care, etc.)
