Summit Search Group has partnered with Exceldor Cooperative, an award-winning and longstanding Manitoba-based organization. On their behalf, we seek to recruit a Human Resources Advisor to join the HR team at their Blumenort plant. Reporting directly to the Director, Human Resources, the HR Advisor will play a key role in supporting labour relations, recruitment, employee engagement, and HR operations across the facility.
This Monday to Friday role (8:00am to 4:30pm, with flexibility as needed) requires a hands-on HR professional who can support both day and evening operations. The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced HR generalist with strong exposure to recruitment, labour relations, and unionized environments. They excel at communication, problem-solving, and building strong relationships across departments. This person brings sound judgment, professionalism, and an ability to support both day-to-day operations and strategic HR initiatives.
Responsibilities:

Recruit externally for vacant positions using a variety of sourcing and recruitment techniques.

Serve as back-up for posting internal vacancies through the Job Posting process.

Enhance retention and recruitment strategies using innovative and strategic approaches.

Play a key role in grievance negotiations and collective bargaining meetings.

Build effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.

Conduct labour relations investigations and support progressive discipline processes.

Create and manage all employee recognition and appreciation events.

Maintain expert knowledge of the Collective Agreement and support its interpretation.

Manage the Attendance Management Program and provide updates to leadership.

Provide back-up and support to other HR team members, including reception.

Adjust schedule as needed to conduct evening investigations or urgent HR matters.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
-
3–5 years of recruitment experience.
-
3–5 years of labour relations experience.
-
3–5 years of experience working in a unionized environment.

5+ years of general Human Resources experience.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
University or college degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent experience (proof of education required).

Strong conflict resolution, presentation, employee relations, and management skills.

Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., Dayforce) considered an asset.
