Internal Sales Engineer – Steam Specialties
Position Summary
The Internal Sales Engineer provides technical and commercial support to one or more Outside Field Sales Engineers while managing assigned customer accounts. This position is a key entry point for technically minded individuals aspiring to grow into external sales and leadership roles. You will engage directly with customers to provide steam and process system solutions, ensuring technical accuracy, responsive service, and continuous sales growth. This position can operate out of Calgary or Edmonton.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main internal contact for assigned customers, handling inquiries, quotes, and technical support.
- Provide technical selections, sizing, and application guidance for steam and process equipment.
- Collaborate closely with Field Sales Engineers to develop quotations, proposals, and value-based solutions.
- Utilize a consultative sales approach to meet customer needs while balancing commercial and technical considerations.
- Coordinate with internal departments—Projects, Service, and Business Development—to ensure smooth execution and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, track opportunities, and contribute to sales forecasting and growth initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement in sales processes, customer engagement, and product application knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills
- Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in technical inside sales, applications engineering, or process equipment support (steam systems experience an asset).
- Strong technical aptitude in steam, condensate, and process systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Remuneration
Compensation includes a base salary of $74,000–$80,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications, participation in a performance-based bonus program, and a comprehensive benefits package including RRSP matching.
