Our client is a rapidly growing wholesale food distribution company, selling primarily within foodservice. They are seeking a dedicated Sales Manager to join their team based in Ottawa, Ontario.
They are focused on strategic expansion and building a high-performance sales team to support their growth trajectory.
The experienced and driven Sales Manager will take the lead in developing a new sales territory. This is a hands-on role initially focused on direct sales and customer acquisition. Once the foundation is set, the Sales Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, and managing a team of high-performing sales representatives to scale the territory.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities within your assigned region
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients
- Developing and executing a territory growth strategy
- Setting sales goals and driving performance to exceed targets
- Hiring, onboarding, and leading a team of sales representatives
- Providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management
- Monitoring market trends and customer needs to inform strategic planning
- Reporting on sales metrics and forecasts to senior leadership
- Contributing to the company’s growth
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably in wholesale foodservice
- Minimum 3–5 years of sales management experience
- A strong ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience in building and managing high-performance sales teams
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the territory (including, but not limited to, a 2-hour radius from Ottawa). For the first 90 days, most of your time will be spent in the Kingston area, followed by working mainly from Ottawa
