Our client is a construction company specializing in commercial, industrial and institutional construction. They are seeking a dedicated Senior Project Manager to join their team based in Toronto, Ontario.
As Senior Project Manager you will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of complex projects from conception to completion. You will ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while meeting predefined objectives for safety, quality and efficiency. The Senior Project Manager facilitates exceptional communication between project teams and stakeholders to proactively mitigate risks and ensure project goals are met.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include:
- Providing innovative management approaches and coordinating with owners, executives, and stakeholders.
- Monitoring market changes and recommending strategic plans accordingly.
- Ensuring project alignment with the company’s strategic goals; revising plans as necessary.
- Supervising and overseeing diverse project teams, including financial and administrative oversight.
- Providing strategic leadership for successful project implementation.
- Monitoring and reporting on project performance, financial transactions, and execution of project plans.
- Identifying and mitigating project risks to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Attending critical project meetings and participating in problem-solving processes.
- Ensuring project compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Reviewing estimates, tender selections, and project budgets.
- Regularly assessing workplace safety conditions, encouraging teamwork and cooperation, and developing a strong organizational culture that prioritizes occupational health and safety.
- Regularly updating clients, stakeholders, and executives on project progress.
- Promoting a positive team environment, supporting collaboration, morale, and professional growth among staff.
Key Performance Indicators in This Role Will Include:
- Successful delivery of projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Effective management of project costs, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial goals.
- Positive client feedback and satisfaction, with strong repeat business.
- High-performing project teams, with a focus on continuous development and succession planning.
- Minimal safety incidents and full compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Accurate and timely completion of project reporting and administrative tasks.
- Technology utilization for timesaving, collaboration and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in strategic planning and business development.
- Strong financial, administrative, and managerial skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to travel regularly to project sites and offices.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent professional designation is strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently.
