Role Overview:
On their behalf, Summit Search Group is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Drafting Technician to join their growing team in Blumenort, MB. Reporting to the Drafting Manager, the successful candidate will contribute to the creation of preliminary designs, construction documents, and 3D renderings while collaborating with sales, clients, and internal teams to ensure high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Translate client and sales team input into initial design concepts that align with project specifications, budget constraints, and client expectations.
- Conduct site visits or review provided site information to ensure accuracy in initial designs.
- Refine and finalize drawings iteratively through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure preliminary designs comply with zoning regulations, building codes, and industry best practices.
- Develop comprehensive, precise, and detailed drawing sets, covering schematics through to final construction documents.
- Incorporate structural and architectural elements into technical drawings, ensuring compliance with safety and building regulations.
- Produce accurate “as-built” drawings post-construction, documenting any modifications made during the building process.
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary Education in Drafting from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of drafting/design and construction experience or a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of structural elements such as truss measurements, heel heights, and overhand calculations.
- Proficient in Revit and any 3D rendering software similar to Twinmotion or Enscapes.
