About Our Client:
Our client is a highly reputable organization in the financial services industry.
Position Scope:
Reporting to the Manager, Total Rewards, the Senior Total Rewards Specialist is a key contributor to the People Strategy team and a partner to the business. Your primary focus includes supporting the total rewards program, with an emphasis on compensation program through market research, benchmarking, analytical work, and modelling data. Critical in helping the organization deliver on its strategic plan, you possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, an ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally, and a critical eye for details. You will bring a deep understanding of compensation principles and best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a compensation subject matter expert (SME) for the People Strategy team.
- Support the deployment and execution of the annual compensation and market review process.
- Act as a trusted partner through compensation discussions with People Leaders throughout the organization.
- Work with the Talent Acquisition Team to provide salary recommendations for new hires, considering role expectations and the development of prospective hires.
- Monitor total rewards and compensation trends in the external market to provide recommendations on best practices to keep the organization’s programs competitive.
- Provide modeling and analytics on compensation initiatives.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports, metrics, and analytics, and provide insights and recommendations to inform decision-making in compensation.
- Participate in external compensation benchmarking with various third-party consultants.
- Participate in job evaluations, support the evaluation process with the internal Job Evaluation and maintain job evaluation documentation.
- Ensure job descriptions and job titles throughout the organization are kept up to date.
- Maintain and update compensation and job evaluation tools and documents.
- Support the development of compensation communications, presentations, and materials to facilitate employee and People Leader knowledge and understanding.
- Assist with pay equity process and analysis.
- Stay current with labor laws and regulations to ensure all compensation programs are compliant, providing recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends in global compensation & benefits programs.
- Keep abreast of industry knowledge and trends by participating in conferences and educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Perform other compensation and total rewards work as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience supporting compensation programs, policies, and processes.
- Solid understanding of Canadian compensation principles.
- College or University education in Human Resources or related discipline.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designations are considered an asset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and strong attention to details.
- Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization and manage sensitive and confidential matters with tact and professionalism.
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and opportunities.
- Strong business acumen.
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, macros, pivot tables, charts).
- Proficient in the use of other MS office applications and HRIS.
