Summit Search Group is pleased to partner with True North Foods in the recruitment of their next Sanitation Supervisor. Located just one hour southwest of Winnipeg, True North Foods proudly operates the only federally certified beef processing facility in Manitoba. This locally owned and operated plant was built by Manitobans, for Manitobans, and features a state-of-the-art sustainability system along with an innovative plant design, ensuring the highest standards of product safety for its customers.
Position:
The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee all sanitation operations during the shift, with occasional overtime. This role is critical in ensuring the facility adheres to all regulatory requirements while upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The successful candidate will optimize cleaning processes to support both food safety and production objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with a high level of autonomy.
Responsibilities:
- Sanitation Operations: Plan, coordinate, and execute all sanitation activities, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Team Management: Manage a team of 9 sanitation workers, providing ongoing guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety protocols.
- Inspection and Compliance: Perform thorough post cleaning inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure they meet pre-operational standards. Liaise with Canadian Food Inspection agency as required.
- Cleaning Procedures: Lead sanitation procedures, including cleaning schedules, chemical usage, and safety protocols. Address and correct any issues promptly.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, inspections, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications:
- 3+ year’s experience in a supervisory role within the food processing industry. Preference given to meat or beef processing.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to perform hands on tasks during shifts.
- In-Depth understanding of sanitation practice, food safety regulations, and GMP principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Adaptable and resourceful with a proven ability to solve problems effectively.
