Service Manager – Heavy Duty Equipment Sector
Our oil field services client is actively seeking a strategic Service Manager to join their growing team in Calgary. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead service operations and drive efficiency within a dynamic and expanding organization. Role Overview:
- Report to the Director of Fleet Performance & Maintenance.
- Manage operational and safety performance of the Calgary shop.
- Oversee the Heavy Duty Repair business, build client relationships, and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Calgary maintenance team to ensure high-quality, timely repairs.
- Develop and implement efficient shop processes and systems.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and learning.
- Achieve revenue targets and maintain a sales pipeline.
- Ensure compliance with the preventative maintenance program and CVIP facility requirements.
- Organize and maintain documentation related to maintenance activities.
- Manage inventory, including parts, supplies, and consumables.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training plans.
- Develop an annual building maintenance plan and budget.
- Ensure quality procedures to reduce business risks.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and key business partners.
HSE & Compliance:
- Lead the safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE procedures.
- Work with the HSE Manager to review and update safety protocols.
Strategy & Leadership:
- Drive company growth through effective planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, and training.
- Empower team members and support their development.
- Conduct annual performance reviews and succession planning.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience with heavy equipment, tractors, trailers, and light trucks.
- Preferred experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership role in a mechanical repair facility.
- Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician.
- CVIP certification required.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and superior management skills.
- Ability to implement safe work practices and adhere to regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and vendor negotiations
