Our client is a leading manufacturing company.
Position Scope:
As a key member of the HR and site operations team, the Training Specialist will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging and effective training across a broad spectrum of topics including safety, soft skills, technical knowledge, and equipment operation. Operating full-time on-site at the facility, the Training Specialist plays a critical role in driving a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous learning by using a systematic approach to training (ADDIE). The successful candidate will also support new hire orientation and lead initiatives that enhance individual and team capability in support of site and organizational goals.
This role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and other training professionals to analyze learning needs, design tailored curriculum, develop blended learning materials, facilitate sessions, and evaluate training effectiveness. The position is ideal for a dynamic, self-driven individual with excellent facilitation skills, a strong grasp of adult learning principles, and experience working in regulated or industrial environments.

Responsibilities:
- Apply the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, Evaluate) to develop and maintain effective training programs.
- Conduct training needs analyses to identify gaps and align learning outcomes with operational and safety objectives.
- Design and develop content for a variety of delivery formats including instructor-led, eLearning, and on-the-job (OJT) training.
- Facilitate in-person sessions and lead engaging training across multiple topics including technical, soft skills, and safety.
- Support onboarding and orientation of new hires to ensure successful integration.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and apply insights to continuously improve content and delivery.
- Maintain accurate training records and support compliance with regulatory training requirements.
- Support operational training initiatives on the production floor.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including production, safety, and HR teams to align training initiatives with business priorities.
- Actively participate in and support continuous improvement projects and organizational learning culture.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience using the ADDIE instructional design methodology.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills in both classroom and virtual environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams and departments.
- Strong digital skills; experience designing with tools such as Articulate Storyline is an asset.
- Experience working in or supporting an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (preferred).
- Knowledge of SharePoint libraries (preferred).
- Experience operating or training on mobile equipment is an asset, but not required.
Education and Experience:
- College or university degree (required).
- Certificate in adult education, completed or in progress (preferred).
- Proven experience developing and delivering training programs using a systematic approach.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a training, instructional design, or facilitation role.
- Experience in a safety-sensitive or industrial work environment is an asset.
