Summit Search Group is partnered with a progressive and resourceful organization who empowers their team in a challenging yet rewarding environment. We are proud to partner with a Canadian owned organization, seeking a Retail Store Manager to oversee all facets of the Calgary location.
Accountabilities:
- Fosters a safe and respectful work environment; reinforces company values
- Manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the store
- Leads and develops their team through consistent coaching and mentoring
- Identifies talent for succession planning and career development purposes
- Identifies opportunities with their leadership team to improve and build team plans
- Ensures compliance with standard operating procedures and all company policies
- Ensures customer concerns are resolved with urgency
- Executes on store plans to achieve sales targets; control expenses and achieve profitability in line with company policies, practices and values
- Follows and administers all company health, wellness and safety procedures and loss prevention protocol; supports the team by working with and promoting awareness, education and opportunities to participate in initiatives and programs within their location
- Implements merchandising directives and standards
- Opens and closes store as required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Post-secondary education in related field considered an asset
- Minimum four years progressive leadership experience (retail industry preferred)
- Outstanding leadership skills; ability to provide vision and direction while being able to coach, mentor and teach
- Strong people and customer service orientation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in collaboration and cooperativeness with others
- Strong time management, organizational and problem solving skills
- Understanding of inventory management and budgeting process
- Ability to plan and execute to achieve goals
- Strong financial acumen – proven success in maximizing sales and profitability; able to work within a budget
- Strategic thinker; ability to plan and execute to achieve goals
- Strong computer skills including experience with MS office; ability to learn and use new technology
- Ability to train and demonstrated commitment to ongoing training and coaching (personally and for others)
- Ability to develop, motivate and work well in a team environment
- Enthusiasm & positive demeanour
- Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
- Self-starter; takes initiative; works well with minimal direction
- Emergency First Aid certification
- Forklift/pump truck certified
