Summit Search Group has partnered with a leading benefits provider to recruit an Employee Benefit Sales Representative to join their team in Winnipeg, MB. This role is an addition to the existing team and will help them execute their aggressive growth plans, as well as assist them in managing the increasing volume of prospects that want to know more about the organizations unique and value-added product offerings. Sales Reps are responsible for educating prospects across Canada (via the phone) of the products we offer, while meeting sales quotas.

In addition to joining a passionate and high energy team that is focused on shaking up an old and traditional industry, your Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Consultative initial discussions with business owners, executive directors, and senior managers of organizations across Canada (10-300 employees)
  • Conduct proposal delivery meetings and convert prospects to clients through proper execution of a proven Sales Process
  • Track all prospect interactions and data in our CRM system (easy to use and mobile friendly)
  • Manage your caseload effectively, ensuring regular follow ups are taking place
  • Business to business lead generation to ensure sales targets are achieved
  • Support other members of the sales team and internal team members i.e. analysts, underwriting, customer service etc.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Canadian employee benefits industry
  • Participate in regular sales meetings and sales training

Our client offers a comprehensive 4-6-month training program to assist you in developing sales skills and insurance knowledge. The program prepares Sales Representatives to:

  • Sell our unique corporate insurance products to clients across Canada in a business to business sales approach
  • Proactively prospect for new business opportunities and generate sales leads by contacting potential clients
  • Compare and analyze employee benefit insurance policies and advise on recommendations and coverage solutions
  • Set up proposal meetings and effectively present to business stakeholders
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Canadian employee benefits industry as well as products and services

Education, Experience & Qualifications

  • Ambitious appetite for success and able to persevere through challenges
  • Passionate about closing deals and helping small to mid-sized employers and their staff
  • Ability to thrive in a performance based, team environment
  • Excellent communicator (both verbal and written) and strong negotiation skills
  • Post-secondary education (business major an asset but not required)
  • Documented success within an organization or a team
  • Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) (not essential but considered a strong asset)
