This position is responsible for developing new business with EPC and selling to large customers with a long-term multi-year sales cycle. This position will foster relationships and stay in touch with their valued customers to routinely look after their buying needs by providing product expert advice.
Responsibilities
- Generate sales leads and establish strong, long-term relationships with current customers
- Prospecting major projects to drive sales new business opportunities across Canada
- Track Major Projects and position their client as a preferred supplier which will lead to incremental sales
- Meet or exceed assigned sales goals for Major Projects
- Build and maintain relationships with Key Decision-makers.
- Prepare proposals and bids for clients
- Organizing and attending client meetings and making sales presentations.
- Recommending solutions to customers’ problems
- Oversee sales projects and provide support to clients
- Schedule appointments and visit existing customers to review product needs and determine other opportunities.
- Develop a sales strategy and respond to Requests for Quotes (RFQ).
- Continuously updating customers on product changes and modifications.
- Attend Trade Shows and Conferences [if applicable].
- Product introduction of new releases.
- Liaison between customers and the company for up-to-date status of service, pricing, and new product release launches.
- Using CRM, ensure customers and contact information are updated regularly for current and potential customers.
- Keeping up to date on new products, services, procedures, and tools by attending training and departmental meetings.
There is up to 30% of travel. Most trips are scheduled and pre-planned. However, depending on business needs there can be trips with minimal notice.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 – 4 years of business development experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience with EPC’s and major projects.
- A background in selling to industrial customers is an asset.
- Wire and cable knowledge or industry experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of solution selling vs. price.
- The role includes a strong understanding of sales margins, product sourcing, pricing, and negotiations. The candidate must show progressive sales accomplishments.
- Strong business acumen and professional approach to offering effective services and solutions.
- CRM experience preferred
