Our client is a Calgary based organization focused on the development of energy distribution terminals in North America.
The Logistics Coordinator coordinates and optimizes the product movement activities of marine fuels and other commodities through various operated and third-party terminals according to key deadlines.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Coordinates daily marine fuel movement schedules to maintain rateability, logistical timing, and efficient, safe and optimal operations.
- Testing compliance and product quality assurance for both purchase and sale locations
- Work closely with the Commercial Manager on the development and ongoing implementation of inventory and rail optimization models.
- Develop and execute railcar maintenance and rotation plan.
- Right size fleet for scaling business and evolving requirements
- Develops and sustains strong customer relationships with third party logistics providers, product suppliers, terminal and purchasing companies as well as internal operating and business groups.
- Provides solutions and ideas to maximize/improve profit throughout company Terminals and logistics operations and/or explore hidden value/options.
- Assesses, evaluates and responds to customer requests and operational changes.
- Monitoring and managing inventory and rail car positions.
- Maintains communication with and provides daily instruction to internal and external operations.
- Prepares reports for internal and external groups.
- Develops and enhances procedures and systems to support the growing marine fuel transportation business.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of progressive experience in the movement of energy products and related logistical experience, as well as knowledge of production practices and pipeline operations.
- Experience with rail scheduling and truck movements necessary
- Experience developing and implementing operational efficiencies, cost saving initiatives and reliability improvements.
- Track record of using an entrepreneurial approach to identifying, advocating for and delivering improved ways of doing things.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks at one time.
- Demonstrates strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
