This position is responsible for but not limited to serving as the customer’s first point of contact when shopping in-store or calling the branch, providing excellent customer service through extensive product knowledge, complete sales transactions, daily banking reconciliation reports, and purchasing, providing support to sales and warehouse, work closely with Branch Manager and other team members to provide world-class support, build strong, long term relationships with existing customers as well as assist in the development of new customers and carry out other duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service on the phone, by mail, email, or at the counter to walk-in customers
  • Complete daily banking reconciliation
  • Generate daily sales report
  • Process daily invoicing
  • Receive product in the P21 system
  • Ensure distribution of P21 invoices by email, mail, fax
  • Order office supplies as required
  • Make price adjustments within set rules
  • Create pick tickets
  • Schedule third-party carrier deliveries
  • Complete merchandising in the store as directed by Branch Manager
  • Ensure showroom is clean, organized and stocked at all times
  • Place Purchase Orders and Special Orders
  • Maintain sample stock and place sample orders
  • Processing stock returns
  • Prepare quotations for customers
  • Check stock levels
  • Provide support to Outside Sales Representatives
  • Input cash receipts
  • Supervise cycle count process
  • Make bank deposits as directed and ensure adequate change is available
  • File and organize paperwork
  • Receive and prepare courier packages
  • Follow up with vendor Purchase Orders and Pricing
  • Actively contact customers to promote the product
  • Ensure adequate stock of literature
  • Ensure uniform is worn and kept clean
  • Follow all Health and Safety policies and all Company Policies and Procedures
  • Assist shippers/receivers as required
  • Deal with POS issues
  • Contact IT for IT-related issues while keeping Branch Manager informed
  • Assist Branch Manager in ensuring Company assets are properly serviced and maintained
  • Liaison with Credit Manager to ensure credit requests are processed in a timely manner

Experience and Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, and Windows Applications
  • Secondary School Diploma, Post-Secondary Diploma
  • 2+ years Retail Experience
  • A highly motivated “self-starter” with a strong work ethic
  • Strong sales aptitude
  • Experience and comfort in dealing with all levels of management and customers (contractors, homeowners, etc.)
  • Professional communication skills with an ability to listen, influence, negotiate and upsell over the phone and in-person
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, passion for success
  • Previous experience with P21, an asset
