Our client is seeking a proactive and technically-minded Account Manager to strengthen relationships and drive growth within their existing client base in the Agriculture and Food sectors. This role is crucial for deepening client partnerships, understanding complex applications, and providing expert consultation working out of their Calgary office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a portfolio of approximately 20 existing major accounts, with potential for onboarding new accounts.
- Serve as a technical consultant, understanding clients’ needs and applications in detail to provide tailored packaging solutions.
- Lead client interactions, including presentations and business reviews for executives.
- Proactively schedule and conduct client visits to maintain and enhance relationships across Canada and the USA.
- Collaborate closely with Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) to manage inventory, anticipate production needs, and lead resolution of complex client inquiries.
- Navigate and communicate effectively through challenging conversations related to supply chain dynamics, global conflicts, and price adjustments.
- Engage in ongoing learning to become an expert in the assigned industries, attending trade shows and conferences as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- A highly curious and proactive individual with a strong technical aptitude, eager to deeply understand client applications and industry nuances.
- An outgoing, client-facing personality, comfortable and confident in presenting to diverse audiences, including executive levels.
- Possesses strong business acumen and the ability to lead and support a team-oriented approach with CSRs.
- Demonstrated patience and exceptional relationship-building skills, focusing on long-term client engagement rather than transactional sales.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30% of the time, primarily by air, across Canada and the USA (including scheduled trips and occasional emergency travel when required).
- Ability to work primarily from the Calgary office, with limited flexibility for remote work.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience in addition to bonus structure full expenses including company credit card as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
