Technical Consultant, GIS

We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Consultant, GIS to join a growing professional services team delivering geospatial and infrastructure solutions to organizations across Canada.
This is a hands-on technical position suited to an intermediate GIS professional who enjoys solving complex problems and working with a collaborative technical team. You will work with experienced technical leads who provide project direction, while taking ownership of your assigned technical work and determining how best to deliver it.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver hands-on GIS technical work across a variety of projects
- Work with Esri ArcGIS technologies, spatial databases and geospatial data
- Support GIS data integration, migration, transformation and quality initiatives
- Work with GIS, CAD, infrastructure and enterprise data
- Take technical requirements and independently determine how to execute the work
- Collaborate with senior technical leads and other consultants on larger projects
- Participate in client discussions during project delivery as required
- Research and develop solutions to complex or unfamiliar technical challenges
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of relevant GIS or geospatial experience
- Strong hands-on experience with ESRI ArcGIS technologies
- Experience with spatial databases, geospatial data and GIS workflows
- Exposure to FME, CAD/Autodesk or data integration is highly desirable
- Experience within a municipality, government organization or consulting environment is particularly attractive
- Strong problem-solving skills and an ability to work through problems without relying on established procedures
- Curious, creative and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Reliable, accountable and able to work effectively as part of a technical team
- Strong communication skills
The Opportunity
This is a remote position within Canada, with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone. Occasional travel or on-site work may be required, typically no more than 5-10 days per year.
Compensation: Approximately $90,000-$110,000 total annual compensation.
