General Manager

 

Reporting to the VP of Business Operations, the General Manager will be accountable for the overall success and profitability of this successful food processing business. This will be achieved by leading the team in Surrey BC in all aspects of business operations. Duties include:

  • Maintain a positive environment that enhances the employees’ work experience and job security
  • Lead by example and create an environment of leadership development
  • Communicate performance standards to all staff and ensure they receive proper training, mentoring, and coaching to meet their goals
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement
  • Conduct performance reviews on all key employees to develop performance improvement plans; set new goals and discuss their concerns
  • Keep employees informed of any changes to company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Work with employees to ensure a strong culture of safety, quality, and cooperation
  • Ensure all operating standards are achieved
  • Work with leadership to Manage production, logistics, procurement, and warehousing
  • Manage and lead the sales team and its objectives
  • Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and forecasts
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Champion and enforce the Code of Conduct and CFS policies and procedures
  • Ensure adherence to CFS Health and Safety Programs and initiatives
  • Ensure that standards for Quality, Sanitation and Food Safety are met or exceeded
  • Be a Brand Champion, lead and support major customer interactions
  • Lead Change and innovation to meet corporate objectives
  • Other Duties as assigned

 Qualifications                                                                                                                                    

  • 5-15 years progressive management experience, or; a combination of post-secondary education and experience will also be considered
  • 5-15 years Food Industry experience preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders
  • Ability and willingness for intermittent travel
  • Post-secondary Education in Commerce and or Business Administration considered an asset
  • Lean Six Sigma experience considered an asset
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills required
  • Intermediate (or higher) level computer skills required – MS Office, Enterprise Resource Planning Software
