Technical Consultant, FME
Remote, Canada
We are recruiting for an experienced Technical Consultant, FME to join a growing professional services team supporting GIS, infrastructure and data integration projects across Canada.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who has meaningful experience working with Safe Software FME and enjoys solving complex data challenges. You will work alongside experienced technical leads, building workflows and solutions that transform, integrate and automate spatial and enterprise data.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and maintain data transformation and automation workflows using FME Form and FME Flow
- Work with GIS, CAD and other enterprise data sources and formats
- Support data integration, migration, validation and automation projects
- Work with relational databases and spatial data
- Take ownership of assigned technical work and independently determine the best approach
- Collaborate with technical leads and other consultants on larger projects
- Participate in client discussions as required during project delivery
- Research and solve technical challenges where there may not be an established solution
What We’re Looking For
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with substantive hands-on FME experience
- Strong working knowledge of FME, beyond basic or occasional use
- Experience working with GIS and spatial data
- Exposure to CAD/Autodesk data and workflows is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Python experience is an asset, but not required
- Experience within a municipality, government organization or consulting environment is particularly relevant
- Curious, resourceful and comfortable solving problems independently
- Strong team orientation and a reputation for following through on commitments
The Opportunity
This is a remote position within Canada, with a preference for candidates located in the Pacific Time Zone. Occasional travel or on-site work may be required, typically no more than 5-10 days per year.
Compensation: Approximately $90,000-$110,000 total annual compensation.
